Avery's Mission Trip to Uganda 2009

Letting God live in us, so he can live through us.

1. Approximately 2 million children in Uganda have been orphaned by civil war and the AIDS epidemic. 2. 15 million children have lost one or both parents to AIDS-more than 12 million are in sub-Saharan Africa. 3. Half the population of Uganda is under the age of 15. (*UNAIDS stats) 4. 8,000 people die everyday because of AIDS-related illnesses-more than 6,000 of those live in Africa. 5. AIDS is now the biggest single cause of death among children under the age of 5. Dear Friends, Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. It is important to me. When I see the suffering people of Africa, especially the children, something in me yearns to help them. It’s recently become a dream of mine to help the children of Africa in some significant and tangible way, and now I can; in fact, WE can. We will be building a school, and helping with other building projects to help allow more children to be adopted into the community. Oasis Christian Center, my church, has partnered with the Watoto Ministries to fight the devastating impact of AIDS and poverty on the people of Uganda. The goal of Watoto is to raise Uganda’s future leaders. Watoto is healing Uganda where it hurts. I want to be one of those volunteers lending a helping hand. I want to be there to give these amazing children the home and security to help give them a better chance at life. BUT I have to raise a large sum of money by October in order to do it. I need your help! I need YOU to sponsor me. Please do your best, but really no amount is too small; will you help me? Please write a check today. You can make your checks payable to Oasis Christian Center and mail them to Avery D'Alessandro P.O. Box 480587 Los Angeles, CA 90048. All donations are tax-deductable.If you have any questions, feel free to ask me, I’d be happy to answer them. Thanks in advance for your help and prayers. It’s deeply appreciated.
